Only 2 weeks ago, we have proposed 2 designs to the Vanessa Grant Trust in Rongai, Kenya in order to help them out with the architectural drawings for a new Secondary Girls School in Rongai. We have tried to optimize the building and its facilities.

For
the main design we have chosen the idea of Studio
Mango. But both proposals had their own original approach. We will also
integrate some concepts and findings of architect Isabella
Strambio in the main design.
The construction works will start later on this month. The intention is to
open the school doors in January 2010 (the start of a new school year in Kenya).
Studio Mango's design offers an original design and leaves space to expand
the school in the future. Their main concept is based on separated classrooms
with integrated toilets. Expanding the classrooms in the future will cover
2 problems simultaneously, namely space and toilets.
Once again we would like to thank Studio Mango (the Netherlands) and Isabella
Strambio (Australia) for their proposals and commitment to help VGT in offering
the best accommodation for their students. We will update our website on a
regular base once the construction works start to show you the progress.
